High spring tides on the River Dart at Totnes, after the recent supermoon , at The Steam Packet Inn during the early twilight.
The steam packet ships of the mid-1800s made regular stops at inns which also served as post offices.
The Steam Packet Inn in Totnes was one such calling point, and its restaurant, called Amelia, was named after one of the three coastal steam packet ships which called at the inn.
It took passengers and mail from London to Portsmouth, Totnes, Devonport and finally connected with the transatlantic packets at Falmouth.
